Business analyst on a large finance transformation programme. Streamlining how financial data moves, automating what should never have been manual, and rebuilding reporting so people can see what they actually own.
The interesting work sits upstream of the build. Deciding what a number ought to mean, designing the process around that answer, then making sure the thing that ships is the thing that was needed. Special projects tend to find me.
Before that
Twelve years in record to report. Books close, flux analysis, intercompany, technical accounting, RPA, and a truly unreasonable amount of Excel.
It is a very good way to learn exactly where software gives up on people, and which of those places are worth fixing.
What holds my attention
- 01AI as a tool, not a topic. I would rather ship something with it than have an opinion about it.
- 02Equities. Reading filings, building the analysis myself instead of trusting a screener.
- 03Data modelling. The unglamorous part where you decide what a number actually means.
- 04Small software that does one thing properly and then stops.
What I build
Side projects, finished to a standard I would be happy to hand to someone else. Fast on a phone, no sign up unless there is a real reason for one, and your data stays on your device where that is possible.
